Working at BG

Working at BG

Miguel Abril

Miguel Abril, Project Manager, Electromechanical Domain, Road & Railway Infrastructure Division, BG Paris

Having been with BG since 2014, I enjoy the technical challenges and the opportunities to engage with clients that my work affords me. One of the things I like most is being able to handle the challenges of quality projects while providing guidance and explaining our process to our clients. I also like the atmosphere at BG Paris and the approachability of the people there.

Christiana Meyer, Project Manager, Infrastructure & Transport Division, BG Baar

I am a civil engineer and joined BG as a project manager in March 2018. Since then, I have been working in the Infrastructure & Transport division.
As part of an interdisciplinary team working on complex projects, I often have questions about fields I’m less familiar with. My colleagues are willing and eager to share their expertise with me when I work on these topics. It’s also easy to discuss things with the team. I value the fact that I was able to take part in exciting projects from the beginning and that I was given responsibilities. The respectful relationships and the good working climate at BG made the on-boarding process quite easy.

David Marti, Project Manager, Railway Engineering Group, BG Lausanne

I joined BG in March 2017 and have since managed multiple projects in parallel. My employer very quickly placed his trust in me, which is highly incentivising for my career. I am also supported by a very good team, which encourages me to forge ahead and progress in my field in order to take on more responsibility.

Bruno Blaser, Ingenieur im Bereich Infrastruktur und Verkehr, BG Schwyz

Bruno Blaser, Engineer, Infrastructure & Transport Division, BG Schwyz

I have been working at BG for five years as a worksite supervisor. My duties involve preparing specifications for complex projects as well as supervising and managing interesting worksites of all types and sizes. I also particularly like the great teamwork and support of my colleagues in Schwyz and, of course, the many new challenges that crop up on a worksite every day.

Nathalie Monin, Group Leader, Civil Engineering-Regions and Large-Scale Projects France Unit, BG Aix-les-Bains

I was familiar with BG before joining the company in 2014, since in my previous position as a client I had already worked with the Infrastructure & Transport division. At BG, the projects are often multidisciplinary and it is great to be able to count on the expertise of colleagues in other divisions or units. I like the fact that BG is positioned on markets with high technical added value, for the design and site supervision of underground structures, technical assistance to project owners and expertise. I find it fascinating to participate in the development of large-scale projects such as the Grand Paris Express, Lyon-Turin and the Bure underground laboratory for radioactive waste storage.

Stéphane Loprieno, Head of Group HVAC Lausanne, BG Lausanne

I joined BG in 2012. What motivates me at BG is the independence and trust I am given to carry out diverse and prestigious projects such as the Royal Savoy Hotel, the Quai Wilson Hotel, the Verbier Sports Centre and the SV6 Biopôle. Despite tight schedules, we offer quality work based on the best technical solutions and provide real support during the execution phases. Customer satisfaction, trust and cost control are fundamental factors in our business, and we constantly seek to manage internal resources efficiently so we can fully meet the expectations of our clients.

Aurélie Legros

Aurélie Legros, Head of the Paris Water Treatment Group within the Water France Unit, BG Ivry-Paris

I have worked for BG since 2006 as a project manager, project liaison and group head. I enjoy organising and managing the team’s work and supporting colleagues, whilst pursuing my own activities according to the brief, deadlines and expectations of our clients, both in-house and external. This is a daily challenge… I also juggle my job as internal quality auditor, act as staff representative for BG France, and am about to take up a post as a trainer at the BG Academy. I get a lot out of teaching because it gives me a regular opportunity to meet colleagues from other French-speaking locations, to learn about their projects, areas of expertise and skills, and to share my own experiences with them.

Alain Piguet

Alain Piguet, Project Manager in the Water & Wastewater Treatment Unit, BG Geneva

I have been with BG for thirty years. As a project manager specialised in water treatment, my responsibility is to oversee the construction of WWTPs. However, I have been involved in all of the building trades and would happily describe myself as a “specialist general engineer”. The real challenge of my job is its multidisciplinary nature, but this is also very rewarding. Thanks to the “BG Family”, I’ve worked on impressive, large-scale projects which bring together high-level specialists able to resolve even the most complex problems that we encounter in our day-to-day work. I see exhilarating years ahead when we’ll take up new professional challenges in dealing with our increasingly digital world… and look forward to making my modest contribution.

Helen Saunders

Helen Saunders, Structural project manager in the buildings sector, BG Geneva

I joined BG at the start of 2018 as a structural project manager in the buildings sector. Working on technically and organisationally complex multidisciplinary projects continues to fascinate me; problem solving, coordination, innovation and communication are at the heart of our day-to-day activities at BG, and the redevelopment of the Cheneviers energy from waste centre here in Geneva is no exception. Having moved here from the UK, the team have supported me in improving my language level and also in developing a sound understanding of the Swiss processes. Similarly, being able to share my own international experiences with my colleagues and transfer those skills to this new environment has been very rewarding. The groups within BG continue to evolve to match both the changes in our clients' requirements and also the changes in the technology available to support us in realising efficient, high quality structures, whether this relates to BIM advancements or new construction products and methods. I am really glad to be part of those projects !
