Inauguration of the new BG agency in Fribourg

BG has just officially opened its new offices in Villars-sur-Glâne, Fribourg, to serve the canton and regional businesses. Some fifty guests took part in this inaugural celebration.

BG CEO Pierre Epars made it clear to the guests gathered for the inauguration of BG Fribourg that our new agency in Villars-sur-Glâne can offer all the group's services (building, infrastructure and transport, water and environment). In addition to our acknowledged expertise and our ability to manage complex multidisciplinary projects, we will now be able to serve our customers locally from our new agency in Fribourg.

New gateway

This new location was chosen for four main reasons, said Christophe Schorderet, head of the new agency. It boasts a favourable geographical situation (halfway between Bern and Lausanne), promising prospects for regional infrastructure development in an urban area with a rapidly growing population, and excellent educational institutions that prepare a large pool of technology specialists.

The fourth reason for choosing Fribourg is its bilingual culture. In this canton, which spans the linguistic border, our new agency acts as a gateway between the group's headquarters in Lausanne and its seven agencies in German-speaking Switzerland.

In familiar territory

Erika Schnyder, mayor of Villars-sur-Glâne, gave a speech – which included some delightfully humorous remarks – about the issues and challenges facing her municipality in the coming years, and the area’s dynamic economy. Stefano Coraducci, head of the subsidiary of the Federal Roads Office in Estavayer-le-Lac, spoke about the investments needed to maintain the national road network, advocating for coherent and justified projects to improve quality of life in the canton.

In Fribourg, BG has many new prospects, but the group is already in familiar territory with several ongoing projects, carried out in collaboration with Transports Publics Fribourgeois, Services de l'Environnement, des Ponts et Chaussées de l'Etat de Fribourg, the municipalities of the canton, the Federal Roads Office and SBB.

Planning a successful event

Sincerest thanks to the entire team that worked hard to make this event a success and to the employees who presented some of BG's iconic projects during the tour of the offices!
