Project Description

The Canopy company plans to build a ground photovoltaic solar power plant with peak power of 5.3 MW, located in the municipality of Aix-en-Provence. The prospective site is located south of Aix-en-Provence on the Montaiguet limestone massif. It covers an area of about 37 ha; the power plant will occupy about 6 ha of this. The photovoltaic power plant will consist of 5,120 photovoltaic modules of crystalline silicon, facing due south and inclined at 32°.

On behalf of Canopy, BG is completing all of the basic and final pilot studies and providing executive project management assistance during the construction phase. This facility is expected to begin operating in 2011.
