Project Description

The Annecy Metropolitan Community’s drinking water supply is obtained by purifying a unique untreated water resource, lake Annecy.
The two current microscreening plants are not efficient enough during periods of algal bloom or peak turbidity.
To keep ahead of changing regulations and rectify the current system’s inadequacies, the Annecy Metropolitan Community decided to undertake a modernisation effort focusing primarily on:

  • complete redefinition of the treatment line (membrane filtration)
  • an increase in treatment capacity (130,000 residents), capacity: 48,000 m³/day
  • improvements to the security of the supply (new water intake, alarm system), reliability in operation, and storage
  • a reservoir at the Les Espagnoux site with a capacity of 8,000 m³

Constraint

The existing facility must continue to operate
